MATERIALS
You’ll Need
1. For the Base:
Masonite or plywood
panel cut to 9x12”
or desired size.
2. Art Materials:
Buttons, beads, rope,
wood scraps, found
objects, miscellaneous
odds and ends.
PROCEDURE:
Do This
Let the arrangement of shapes
and colors of selected objects
suggest the design of a
whimsical face.
Avoid making preliminary
drawings. Instead, work
spontaneously.
Arrange component elements
intuitively until you are
satisfied with the design.

Use white glue (or a hot glue gun)
to attach the loose objects onto
the surface area.
Contemplate and title your whimsical portrait. |
